About Our Story
Hello there!
Thank you for visiting Bolt Catering. I’m James McCarthy, the founder, and my culinary journey began with a simple joy: seeing the smiles on friends’ and family’s faces as they savored my dishes. It inspired me to enroll at Cape Community College while working in a popular Sports Bar and Grill in Millville, NJ. There, I met Katie, my partner in both life and food. Together, we explored Tex Mex BBQ, Italian, and Asian Fusion cuisines, constantly challenging each other to innovate.
My passion for food led me to become a culinary teacher at Millville Senior High School. Yet, I yearned to take my love further. And this is how, Bolt Catering was born. Established in 2012, Bolt Catering began as a small BBQ catering company, evolving over the years into a full-service culinary enterprise. Our dedication to crafting exceptional dining experiences remains at the core of our mission. From intimate gatherings to large-scale events, we prioritize quality and innovation in every dish we create.
While I focused on delivering authentic meals, Katie’s attention was concentrated to quality and presentation whichbrought the perfect balance to our business. At this point in time, we were blessed with three gorgeous children, Benjamin, Elliana, and Penelope, alongside running a business and teaching, and our lives were incredibly busy and crazy, but we loved every second of it!
After years of hard work and our combined expertise in food and health education,we’ve finally expanded our services to include convenient meal prep options. Each week, we curate a selection of nutritious meals for those on the go or seeking gourmet healthy options.
All of our meal prep is gluten-free, dairy-free, and free from added sugars. Our produce is sourced from a local supplier, and we take pride in serving wild-caught fish and locally-sourced beef. Additionally, we offer vegan options weekly, and our menu changes regularly to provide variety for our customers.We also exclusively use clean oils in our kitchen.
